How to Use the Investment Planning Studio in AIZOPlan: A Quick Start Guide
This article provides an overview of how to navigate and use each section to effectively manage your Investment lifecycle with the Investment Planning Studio.
Overview
The Investment Planning Studio in AIZOPlan enables you to define, allocate, adjust, and validate Budgets at both the portfolio and demand levels. It ensures that your organization’s funding decisions remain strategically aligned and financially controlled.
The module is organized into six core sections:
- Dashboards - suite of dynamic dashboards that empower you to monitor, analyze, and optimize portfolio-level investments

Portfolio Investment Allocation—Allocate, adjust, and transfer budgets at the portfolio level

Demand Investment Allocation—Simulate ROI and assess demand readiness

Accessing the Investment Planning Studio
You have two options:
Option 1 : Navigate to Portfolio → Plan → Investment Management Studio
Option2: Open the Investment Planning Studio directly from the Portfolio Office.
📁 Dashboards
The Investment Planning Studio in AIZOPlan offers a suite of dynamic dashboards that empower you to monitor, analyze, and optimize portfolio-level investments. These dashboards provide real-time visibility into budget performance, execution progress, and strategic alignment, enabling smarter investment decisions across your portfolios.

📁 Budget Sources
Define the origin, type, category, and purpose of available funds to establish a clear and traceable budget structure at the portfolio level.
🔹Accessing Budget Sources
Go to Portfolio → Manage → Investment Planning → Budget Sources.
🔹Adding a Budget Source
Click Add Budget Source, then fill in the following details:

Source Name (e.g., Digital Transformation Grant)

Source Type: Central, BU, Tribes, or CxO
-
Category: OPEX or CAPEX
-
Funding Type: Strategic, Operational, Tactical, or Special
-
Start Year and Budget per Year
-
Reference and Description
🔹Managing Existing Sources
Click the action icons to edit or delete a source from the list.

📊 Portfolio Investment Allocation
Allocate funding from defined sources to portfolios, request adjustments, or transfer funds as needed.
🔹Accessing Portfolio Investment Allocation
Go to Portfolio → Manage → Investment Planning → Portfolio Investment Allocation
Each portfolio row includes:

Portfolio : Portfolio name
-
Status : Current lifecycle stage (e.g., Funnel, Reviewing, Analyzing, Ready, On Hold, Implementing, Closed)
-
Allocation Status : indicates whether the investment has been reviewed/validated
-
Total Validated Investment : total amount of Investment offically allocated to this portfolio
-
Pending Adjustment Request : additional investment requested but not yet approved
-
Transfers received from Other Portfolios : budget transferred to this portfolio from other portfolios
🔹Allocate Initial Budget to a Portfolio
Select the target portfolio and enter the following fields:

Year

Validation Responsible
-
Budget Source
-
Amount
Once submitted, the Validation Responsible can take action.
🔹 Request a Budget Adjustment
Click the “Request Adjustment” button, then:

Select the Portfolio and Budget Source
-
Enter the requested amount and justification
-
Submit the request
Track status in My Team Workflow. Validation Responsible can act in My Workflow
🔹 Transfer Budget Between Portfolios
Click “Transfer Budget” button, then:

Choose Source and Destination portfolios
-
Enter the Transfer amount
-
Assign a Validation Responsible and provide a justification
-
Submit the request
Track status in My Team Workflow. Validation Responsible can act in My Workflow

🧮 Demand Investment Allocation
Simulate ROI to assess the Investment Readiness of Demands in the Analysis stage.
🔹Accessing Demand Investment Allocation
Go to Portfolio → Manage → Investment Planning → Demand Investment Allocation.
You’ll find two views:

Demand View – For demands in the Analysis (Active Demand) /Prioritization stage (Flagged Demands)
-
Project View – For approved demands that became projects
In Demand View, each Active demand includes:
- Demanded Investment
- Estimated Cost / Expected Earnings
- ROI Status
- Action: Resolve ROI
Click “Resolve ROI” to launch the guided 4-step ROI simulation process :

Select Demand

Estimate Costs & Earnings (CapEx / OpEx, expected returns)
-
Refine Costs
-
Estimate ROI using realization curves and visualize metrics such as EBITDA, Net Cash Flow, and Total Earnings
